Yaskawa AC- The new Generation of AC Drives

Yaskawa is the largest manufacturer of AC VFDs and the new generation 7 Drives are significantly smaller than an traditional AC with harmonic filtering.  The Yaskawa AC 7 is 45% smaller installation footprint, has 70% fewer wires, and is 62% lighter that convention AC VFDs.  The input current waveforms are sinusoidal, allowing for a dramatic decrease in current harmonics.  Yaskawa AC offers the latest technological advancements in AC induction motor speed control.  Yaskawa AC drives offer network communications, support by software tools for parameter management, custom software options, and ease of installation.

Yaskawa AC  Models

The Generation 7 - F7,G7, and P7 offers integral horsepower and are available up to 500 Hp, and offers every automation application needed in the industrial plant, from high performance torque control to simple fan drive.  The F7 Yaksawa AC is rated for normal or heavy duty load, ranging in size from 1/2 to 500 Hp.  The G7 are for heavy duty rating and extreme performance drive and the new 3-level inverter design range from 1/2 to 500 Hp.  The P7 are applications for fans and pumps from 5 to 500 Hp.   

The Microdrive Yaskawa AC models include the V7, V74X,  V7N and the J7 drives. They range in size from 1/8 to 15 horsepower and are ideal for machine mounting.  The Yaskawa V7 is an open-loop vector drive with numerous  features, ranging in size from 1/8 to 10 Hp.  The V7N are designed with embedded DeviceNet communications.  The V74X is the NEMA 4X/12 version.  The J7 VFD is a simple drive ranging in size from1/8 to 5 Hp.

The Generation 7 Yaskawa AC drives offers a range of performance choices and innovative designs and technology.  Their are available in V/f, open  and close loop vector control for speed regulation choices of 1%, 0.2%  or 0.01%.  The high-slip braking feature is available for high inertia loads, without the need for dynamic braking resistors.  Other options are higher output frequency and zero-servo control.
